Installation
Refer to the Macintosh Cyrillic Language Kit Installation and User's Guide for installation and set-up information.
If you are installing the Cyrillic Language Kit on the Arabic or Hebrew version of the Mac OS, you may want to choose the left-to-right setting in the "Text" control panel for proper justification of Roman text during installation.
When Russian, Bulgarian and Ukrainian Language Kits are installed together, whichever was installed last will appear as the default script in dialog boxes where Russian, Bulgarian or Ukrainian are displayed.
Printer Drivers Updated
The LaserWriter 8.3.2 and StyleWriter 1200 2.1.1 drivers will be installed if they are not already present.
Important: Use the Updated Version of SimpleText!
The most recent versions of SimpleText, a basic multilingual text processing application, are provided on the "Install 1, English" diskette and on the CD-ROM. If you have a version of SimpleText earlier than version 1.2, you must replace it with a newer version of SimpleText from this kit.
You can choose between several language versions of SimpleText, including English, French, Bulgarian, Russian, and Ukrainian. The SimpleText application is not automatically installed. To install SimpleText, drag the version from "Install 1, English", or the CD, to your hard disk.
Fonts
If you are exchanging documents with a colleague using a localized Bulgarian, Russian, or Ukrainian version of the Mac OS, and the font in the document is not displayed correctly, select the text and choose a Cyrillic font that is installed with the Cyrillic Language Kit.
PostScript fonts will not be accessible when GX is installed.
